New Umm Al Quwain Parking Rules Announced

Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, the Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, has officially enacted Law No. 5 of 2026, introducing new Umm Al Quwain parking rules for the emirate. The new legislation establishes a comprehensive framework to regulate vehicle parking across various sectors.
Comprehensive Scope of Parking Regulations
The new law is designed to govern parking in both public and private environments. This includes:
- Public parking zones managed by government authorities.
- Private parking areas, including those overseen by real estate developers.
- Any other specific locations designated by the competent authorities.
This regulatory update is expected to impact the daily routines of residents and commuters. The large expatriate population in the Northern Emirates—including those in Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah who often travel to Dubai or Sharjah for work—may see changes in parking availability and enforcement.
Additional Legislative Measures
In addition to the parking law, the Ruler issued two other significant directives aimed at economic and social development.
Boosting Infrastructure through PPPs
Law No. 4 of 2026 has been enacted to regulate public-private partnerships (PPP). This law aims to encourage greater private sector involvement in the emirate's infrastructure and various development projects.
Protection of Minors' Funds
Furthermore, Amiri Decree No. 3 of 2026 has established a committee dedicated to the management of funds belonging to minors and individuals in similar legal circumstances, ensuring their financial assets are properly managed.
