UAE Fuel Prices Surge Up to 16% in October

Residents across the Emirates are facing higher commuting costs as the UAE Fuel Price Committee announced a significant UAE fuel price hike for October 2026. This announcement marks the third consecutive month of rising costs, a trend that is expected to place a noticeable financial strain on households and professional drivers alike.
The new rates are scheduled to take effect on October 1, following a period of intense volatility in the global energy markets. The adjustments come as Brent crude prices approached the $110 per barrel mark during September, fueled by heightened geopolitical tensions in the Gulf and around the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
New Fuel Rates for October 2026
The committee has released the updated pricing for all major fuel types. Notably, this is the fourth time in the last four years that petrol prices in the country have surpassed the 4 dirhams per liter mark—a milestone last reached during the height of the Russia-Ukraine war in mid-2022.
- Super 98: 4.40 dirhams per liter (an increase of 0.60 dirhams)
- Special 95: 4.28 dirhams per liter (an increase of 0.59 dirhams)
- E-Plus 91: 4.21 dirhams per liter (an increase of 0.60 dirhams)
- Diesel: 4.80 dirhams per liter (an increase of 0.50 dirhams)
