Traffic Safety And Warnings
With schools reopening, traffic volume is significantly higher during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up hours. Authorities have warned that high-risk behaviors, including speeding, mobile phone use, sudden lane changes, unsafe overtaking, tailgating, and failing to yield at pedestrian crossings, will negate campaign eligibility and could result in fines or additional black points. Particular caution is advised near school buses and within school zones, where parents are cautioned against double-parking or unauthorized stops that obstruct visibility.
Travel Advice And Point Reduction Details
Indian expats and other residents commuting between Sharjah, Ajman, and Dubai are advised to allocate an extra 20-30 minutes for their travel to avoid the pressure of potential delays. Drivers are also encouraged to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks on tires, brakes, lights, and mirrors before departing. Participants are reminded that the four-point reduction applies to existing negative points and does not automatically waive outstanding traffic fines. Eligibility for the reduction remains subject to final verification by the Ministry of Interior's system.
