Sunday Passport Pickups Now Available for Indian Expats in UAE
Indian expatriates across the UAE can now collect their passports on Sundays, providing a vital window for workers who struggle to visit consular centres during the standard work week. This new initiative aims to support those working demanding six-day or rotating schedules.
New Sunday Service Details
To accommodate the busy schedules of the workforce, Alhind Global Services will now facilitate passport collections every Sunday. The service is available between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm at any of the 16 Indian Consular Application Centres (ICACs) managed by the provider.
Please note: This Sunday window is strictly reserved for passport collection only. New passport applications cannot be submitted during these hours.
Clearing the Backlog
Since Alhind took over the management of the 16 ICACs on July 22, 2026, there has been a significant push to streamline operations. In the first month of operation, the centres processed over 53,000 services, including approximately 44,000 passport-related tasks. Officials have confirmed that the previous backlog has been fully cleared, and appointment slots are now readily available.
The Bur Dubai Hub and Walk-in Services
The facility located at the Bur Dubai UW Mall remains the largest operational site, boasting 45 counters. While appointments are the standard, certain categories remain eligible for walk-in services, including:
- Tatkal service applicants
- Newborns
- Emergency certificate seekers
- Senior citizens (aged 60 and above)
- Persons of determination
For added convenience, an on-site service bundle is available for Dh19, which covers form filling, photography, photocopying, and courier services.
How to Secure Appointments
To ensure a smooth process, residents are encouraged to book through the official portal: consularsevainuae.com. Appointment slots are released daily at the following times from Monday to Saturday:
- 9:00 am
- 9:00 pm
Standard operating hours for the centres from Monday to Saturday are 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Consul General Dr. E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy has cautioned the community against using unauthorized touts to secure appointments.
Community Support and Legal Guidance
In addition to logistical updates, the Consulate General of India in Dubai recently held a legal counselling camp as part of the 'Seva Pakhwada' initiative. The session provided pro-bono guidance on critical matters, including cybercrime, banking and financial fraud, and the misuse of Emirates IDs.
