The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre has announced a new visitor entry fee structure starting September 1, 2026. These measures aim to enhance visitor experiences and ensure the long-term sustainability of services according to the official website.
- UAE Emirates ID holders will pay an entry fee of AED 5.
- International tourists will be charged AED 10.
- Visitors arriving via travel operators will pay AED 8 per person.
Entry remains free of charge for Muslims attending prayer services, individuals aged 60 and above, children under the age of three, and people of determination. Tickets can be booked online up to one month in advance through the official SZGMC portal, szgmc.gov.ae, though physical ticket counters remain available on-site.
The mosque operates from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday through Thursday. On Fridays, doors are open from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., as the facility closes to tourists during Friday prayers. Sura Night Tours are available daily from 9:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Visitors are reminded to adhere to a strict dress code requiring modest, loose-fitting, and opaque clothing that covers shoulders, knees, and hair. Traditional abayas are no longer available for rent, but appropriate attire can be purchased at the nearby Souq Al Jami for AED 45.
Additional paid experiences are offered, including access to the main prayer hall for AED 30, entry to the Light and Peace Museum for AED 25, and the Diya immersive experience for AED 25, with a combined ticket for the museum and Diya available for AED 40.
Complimentary guided cultural tours are conducted by experts Saturday through Thursday at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m., and on Fridays at 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The facility is wheelchair accessible and provides free parking, though smoking and the consumption of food or beverages inside the exhibition areas are prohibited.
