Sharjah Horror: Dismembered Expat Found as Wife and Son Vanish
A gruesome discovery on a road leading toward the Oman border has sent shockwaves through the Indian expatriate community. Alwin Prakash Kunder, a resident of the UAE for 14 years, was found murdered in a horrific state inside his parked Toyota vehicle on August 12.

The victim, who worked at Sharjah Airport, was found stabbed in the chest and dismembered into nine separate pieces. The remains were discovered packed into two bags within his car. Identification was only confirmed through DNA testing, using a sample provided by his elder son.
The Disappearance and Suspicious Clues
The mystery began around July 20, when Kunder’s brother, Anil Prashanth Kunder, attempted to contact him. While Anil received a text message claiming Alwin was fine, the family found the communication highly suspicious, as Alwin historically communicated only via voice notes.
Initial attempts to locate him led to conflicting reports:
- The building watchman and company HR claimed Alwin had returned to India.
- Passport records indicated he had never exited the UAE, prompting a missing-person complaint.
A Family Missing
The tragedy deepens with the disappearance of Kunder’s wife, Tina, a schoolteacher, and their son, a Class 10 student, both of whom have been missing since late July. Suspicious activity has been noted around their residence:
- Neighbors and CCTV footage suggest that two men and a woman were seen moving luggage from the family’s apartment between July 26 and 27.
Seeking Justice Amidst Silence
As of September 23, 2026, the Sharjah Police have not released an official statement regarding potential suspects or a motive. The family is currently navigating a complex legal landscape to repatriate Alwin’s remains, dealing with both UAE administrative procedures and Indian police requirements.
Anil Kunder has met with the Udupi Superintendent of Police to demand a formal investigation, though the family reports they have not yet received a copy of the FIR.
The case has raised significant concerns among the Indian community regarding the lack of consular updates and the ongoing silence from local authorities as the status of the wife and son remains unknown.
