Second Indian Dies After Riyadh Airport Missile Attack

The tragic death toll from the devastating missile strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh has risen, with a second Indian national succumbing to his injuries. Sheikh Saeed, a resident of Telangana, passed away after fighting for his life in intensive care following the Houthi-led assault.

Tragedy for the Telangana Resident

Sheikh Saeed, aged between 36 and 40, was a long-term resident of Saudi Arabia, having lived and worked in the Kingdom for approximately 12 years. He hailed from the Saini Baba Colony in Kamareddy, Telangana, and was employed at a Starbucks outlet within the airport at the time of the attack on October 10, 2026.

Following the missile strike, Saeed was admitted to the intensive care unit at King Fahd Armed Forces Hospital. After three weeks of critical treatment, the Indian Embassy in Riyadh officially confirmed his passing on November 4, 2026. According to his family, consent has been granted for his burial to take place in Riyadh.

Rising Death Toll and Previous Casualties

Saeed is the second Indian national to lose his life due to the October 10 incident. He joins 46-year-old Mohammed Yousuf Ali, a resident of Hyderabad, who died on October 12, 2026, following the same strike.

The scale of the initial assault on the airport was immense, causing widespread chaos and casualties:

  • Total Fatalities: 14 people (including the two Indian nationals)
  • Total Injuries: More than 300 people

Volatile Regional Security

The incident has highlighted the increasingly unstable security situation in the region. Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki, the spokesman for the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, has confirmed that hostilities remain high.

Recent military interceptions have underscored the ongoing threat to major hubs:

  • Makkah Region: A drone was intercepted on November 6.
  • Riyadh Region: Houthi-launched cruise missiles targeting the capital were intercepted and destroyed on November 6 and 7, 2026.
