Oman Labor Crackdown: 17,577 Violations Uncovered in Six Months

The Oman Ministry of Labor has issued a high-level warning to the business community following a significant wave of illegal employment and unauthorized labor practices. Authorities are moving aggressively to protect the national labor market from the risks posed by an expanding informal economy and unfair competition.

Massive Violation Counts Revealed

According to Hussain Ali Baqir Al Lawati, Director General of Labor Welfare, the ministry recorded 17,577 violations related to the employment of non-Omani workers between January and June 2026. While
