The Migrant Workers Office in Dubai shared a very helpful update for workers. Starting Monday, September 14, 2026, MWO-Dubai will begin accepting debit and credit card payments for various services. This policy change is intended to assist Overseas Filipino Workers residing in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
- Card payments now accepted for five high-volume services starting September 14, 2026.
- Cash payments will still be accepted along with the new card option.
- New online portal is currently being developed for digital documents and payments.
The new payment option applies to five high-volume services:
individual employment contract verification, which remains at a fee of AED 40; employer accreditation and job-order processing; rehire processing; direct-hire processing; and Tadbeer hiring services. While card payments are being introduced, the office will continue to accept cash payments. Users opting to pay by card may be subject to standard bank or point-of-sale transaction charges, along with an applicable 5% VAT. The official verification fee itself remains unchanged. Labor Attaché John Rio Bautista stated that this facility was implemented following numerous requests from OFWs, employers, and principals seeking more convenient payment alternatives. Furthermore, the office is currently developing an online portal to facilitate digital document uploads, electronic payments, and status tracking for contract verification.
Contract verification is a mandatory procedure for Filipino workers in the UAE before obtaining an Overseas Employment Certificate, a document essential for travel to the Philippines and various visa-related requirements.
MWO-Dubai, formerly known as POLO, is situated in Al Qusais 3, Dubai. It provides services to workers whose visas or Emirates IDs were issued in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Umm Al Quwain. The office operates Monday through Thursday from 07:30 to 15:30 and on Fridays from 07:30 to 12:00.
