A 24-year-old Kerala man died in a fatal e-scooter accident in Fujairah just weeks before his wedding. Police cite traffic violations.

A tragic road accident in Fujairah has claimed the life of a 24-year-old salesman from Kerala, just weeks before he was scheduled to return home to celebrate his wedding.
Reswin Rasheed Thellikunnel, a resident of Marady in Muvattupuzha, Ernakulam, died following a collision involving an electric scooter in Fujairah City Centre. The incident occurred as he was returning from his workplace at an Al Baik outlet.
Details of the Fatal Collision
According to the Fujairah Police, the accident took place when an SUV, driven by a Gulf national woman in her 50s, struck Reswin while he was riding his e-scooter. The collision occurred last week, resulting in Reswin's death at the scene.
Police confirmed on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, that the accident was caused by Reswin crossing the road at a non-designated location, which was a violation of traffic regulations. Following the incident, his body was transported to a local hospital, and the driver was taken into custody for questioning. The case has since been referred to the Public Prosecution.
A Wedding Cut Short and Community Efforts
The tragedy has devastated his family, as Reswin was preparing to fly to Kerala in early November for his wedding, which was planned for either November or December. He is survived by his mother, Zeenath, and his siblings, Ramees and Fida; his father, Rasheed, is deceased.
Community organisations, including the MCC, are currently working to coordinate the repatriation of his remains to India so he can be laid to rest by his loved ones.
