A Fatal Commute from Work

Reswin was working as a salesman at the Al Baik outlet in Fujairah City Centre. He was returning from his shift when the accident occurred last week. Authorities confirmed that Reswin died instantly at the scene. The investigation indicated that the accident was precipitated by the victim crossing the road at a non-designated point, which was cited as a violation of traffic rules.

Driver in Custody

Following the incident, the driver of the SUV was taken into custody for questioning. The case has since been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal proceedings.

A Wedding Dream Cut Short

The news has sent shockwaves through his hometown of Marady in the Muvattupuzha area of Ernakulam district. Reswin, the son of Rasheed and Seenath, was a beloved member of his family and had two siblings, Ramees and Fida.

In a heartbreaking turn of events, Reswin was reportedly scheduled to return to Kerala in early November to attend a wedding planned for later that year. That celebration will now never take place.

Repatriation and Safety Warnings

Reswin’s remains are currently being held at the Fujairah Hospital mortuary. The Indian Embassy, alongside local community groups, is currently coordinating the process to repatriate his body to India.

In light of this tragedy, Fujairah Police have intensified their warnings to all road users. The department is ramping up enforcement and awareness campaigns, particularly regarding the use of e-scooters and bicycles. Officials emphasized the critical importance of using designated crossings and strictly adhering to all safety regulations to protect vulnerable road users.
