A 24-year-old Indian expatriate from Kerala has died following a fatal road accident in Fujairah involving an electric scooter and an SUV.
The victim, identified as Reswin Rasheed Thellikunnel, was a salesman at the Al Baik outlet located in Fujairah City Centre. The incident occurred last week while he was commuting home after completing his work shift.
Details of the Fatal Collision
According to information released by the Fujairah Police, the collision took place while Reswin was riding his e-scooter across a road at a non-designated crossing point, which constitutes a violation of traffic regulations. During the crossing, he was struck by an SUV driven by a Gulf national woman in her 50s.
Reswin sustained fatal injuries and passed away at the scene. His body was subsequently transported to Fujairah Hospital.

The Fujairah Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the crash. In light of the accident, officials have issued renewed warnings regarding the use of e-scooters on UAE roads, highlighting the following safety requirements:
- The mandatory use of appropriate protective gear.
- The strict necessity of using only designated crossing areas.
- Full compliance with all local traffic laws and regulations.
A Tragic Loss Before His Wedding
The accident has left a family in mourning, as Reswin was scheduled to travel back to his home in Marady, Kerala, in early November. He was preparing for his wedding, which was slated to take place in December.
Reswin is survived by his father, Rasheed; his mother, Seenath; his brother, Ramees; and his sister, Fida. The Indian Embassy and local community organisations are currently coordinating the repatriation of his remains to Kerala.
