The ship is currently mid-way through its Lokayan-26 voyage, an expedition that began in Kochi in January 2026. This stop in Salalah holds special significance as it serves as the final foreign port of call for the vessel during this specific expedition.

During the visit, the ship's crew members engaged with the guests, sharing detailed insights into the daily routines, technicalities, and unique challenges of living and working aboard a naval training ship.

Strengthening India-Oman Maritime Ties

The event was graced by the presence of Indian Ambassador Prashant Pise. In a ceremonial moment, the Ambassador hoisted the national flag, a gesture intended to underscore the deep-rooted maritime partnership and cooperation between India and Oman.

The program served as a moment of immense pride for the local Indian community and provided students with a direct introduction to the traditions of the Indian Navy.

For the many young students in attendance, the visit was more than just a tour; it was an inspiring educational encounter that offered a glimpse into naval heritage and the realities of life on the high seas.
