Authorities have launched a major crackdown on illegal food kitchens in Kuwait, resulting in the closure of three unlicensed operations within the Al-Ahmadi Governorate. The raids, conducted within private residential properties, aim to curb unregulated food businesses that pose risks to public safety.

  • Failing to meet general health and safety standards required for food preparation.

Wider Crackdown on Commercial Infractions

In a separate inspection campaign conducted on October 8, 2026, authorities identified a significant number of other infractions in the Al-Ahmadi and Mubarak Al-Kabeer areas. This sweep was led by the Ministry of Commerce's emergency team in conjunction with the Ahmadi Security Directorate.

During this operation, officials identified 47 additional violations related to commercial misconduct and consumer protection. The infractions included:

  • Acts of commercial fraud.
  • Failure to provide required warranty lists for both new and refurbished spare parts.
  • Conducting unauthorized vehicle repairs without the required approval from the Ministry of Interior.

These continuous inspections highlight the ongoing efforts by Kuwaiti authorities to enforce commercial laws and maintain standards across various sectors, from food services to automotive repairs.
