A free, walk-in legal counseling session is being held on Monday, 21 September 2026, to help victims navigate the complexities of cybercrime, banking fraud, and the misuse of Emirates ID credentials.
The session will take place at the Consulate Auditorium from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. In a move to ensure immediate accessibility for those in distress, no prior appointments are required for attendance.
The Anatomy of the Scam: How Workers are Being Targeted
Organized under the Seva Pakhwada initiative, this legal camp is a direct response to a recent surge in fraudulent activities targeting Indian workers, with a particular focus on the blue-collar sector. Scammers are reportedly impersonating legitimate agents to deceive unsuspecting individuals.
Under the pretense of facilitating visa regularization, employment, or the issuance of Emergency Certificates and exit permits, these fraudsters are illicitly obtaining sensitive data, including:
- Passports and Emirates ID details
- Fingerprint scans
- Facial recognition data
- Eye scans
Devastating Consequences for Victims
Once these criminals obtain biometric and identity data, they use it to execute high-level financial crimes. This includes opening fraudulent bank accounts and securing
