Etihad Rail Unveils Dubai-Abu Dhabi Service: Travel in Under an Hour!
Commuting between the UAE's two largest emirates is about to get significantly faster and more efficient. Etihad Rail has officially opened bookings for its highly anticipated passenger rail service connecting Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with operations scheduled to begin on September 30, 2026.
Seamless Connectivity for Dubai Residents
The new service will operate from the newly established Dubai Al Yalayis Station. Strategically positioned near Jumeirah Golf Estates and the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311), the station is designed to be a central hub for several key areas. Residents from the following locations will enjoy easy access to the rail network:
- Al Furjan
- Dubai Investment Park
- Green Community
- Dubai Production City
- Expo City
- Dubai South
For those transferring from the city's existing transit network, connectivity is made simple via a 400-meter covered pedestrian bridge. This bridge links the Al Yalayis Station directly to the Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station on the Red Line (Route 2020), ensuring a smooth transition for commuters.
Rapid Transit and Daily Schedules
The journey from Dubai to the Mohammed Bin Zayed City Station in Abu Dhabi is expected to be remarkably quick, with estimated travel times ranging between 57 and 64 minutes.
On its inaugural day, the network will provide five round trips to accommodate passenger needs. The first departure is slated to take place at approximately 6:14 AM or 6:15 AM. Beyond the capital, Etihad Rail is also introducing a service between Dubai and Fujairah, which is expected to take roughly 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Passengers can tailor their journey to their budget and comfort preferences by choosing between different ticket classes and types, including Saver, Value, and Flex options.
Comfort Class
Starting from AED 39, this class is designed for practical travel while maintaining modern standards. Amenities include:
