A major milestone in the UAE's transport infrastructure is set to arrive as Etihad Rail officially commences passenger services between Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Fujairah on September 30, 2026. The countdown to the service launch began on September 28, with the formal inauguration of the Al Yalayis station located in Jumeirah Golf Estates. The ceremony was led by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Dubai.
In a significant demonstration of the network's readiness, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan performed a trial journey on the same day, traveling across the network from Abu Dhabi to Dubai.

The new rail link promises to drastically reduce travel times for commuters. Travelers moving between Dubai and Abu Dhabi can expect journeys to last between approximately 57 and 62 minutes.
To cater to different passenger needs, Etihad Rail has introduced two distinct tiers of service:
- Comfort Class: Starting from AED 39
- Premium Class: Starting from AED 109
Passengers can conveniently secure their seats through the Etihad Rail mobile application, the official website, or via automated ticket machines installed at the stations.
Seamless Connectivity and Integration
The infrastructure has been designed with ease of movement in mind. The Al Yalayis station at Jumeirah Golf Estates features a dedicated pedestrian bridge that provides direct access to the Dubai Metro Red Line, allowing commuters to switch modes of transport without having to cross streets at ground level.
In a move to simplify daily travel, the rail service is fully integrated with the Nol card system. This allows passengers to use a single card or a QR code to travel seamlessly across the train, metro, bus, and tram networks.
