Dubai Police Seize 408 Scooters and Bicycles in Naif

In a major crackdown on traffic violations, the Dubai Police, in coordination with the General Department of Traffic and the Naif Police Station, have confiscated 408 two-wheeled vehicles during a targeted road safety operation in the Naif Gold Souk area.
Targeting Traffic Violations in High-Traffic Zones
The enforcement action was launched to address safety concerns in one of Dubai's busiest commercial districts. By targeting riders who were flouting traffic regulations, authorities aim to protect pedestrians, motorists, and the riders themselves from potential accidents.
The seized items include:
- 300 electric scooters
- 50 electric bicycles
- 58 regular bicycles
Authorities have confirmed that legal measures have been initiated against the violators.
Educational Outreach and Safety Support
Beyond strict enforcement, the campaign focused heavily on prevention and public awareness. During the operation, officers engaged with 932 individuals, providing vital safety instructions. These lessons focused on:
- Using designated cycling paths
- Strictly adhering to traffic laws
- The necessity of wearing protective equipment
In a gesture of community support, safety gear and relevant supplies were also distributed to workers operating within the district.
A Strategy for Accident Mitigation
Brigadier Omar Mousa Ashour, Director of the Naif Police Station, emphasized that the Dubai Police strategy is built on increasing traffic awareness to reduce accidents and raise safety standards across the emirate.
"The Dubai Police strategy emphasizes traffic awareness to mitigate accidents and enhance road safety standards," stated Brigadier Omar Mousa Ashour.
He urged all users of electric scooters and bicycles to stick to authorized routes and follow all mandatory safety protocols. The initiative is particularly relevant for expatriate workers and residents who rely on two-wheeled transport for daily commuting and delivery services in the densely populated Naif zone. Officials have advised the public to remain compliant to avoid further enforcement actions.
