Dubai Migrant Workers Office Now Accepts Card Payments For Walk-in Services
The Migrant Workers Office-Dubai and Northern Emirates (MWO-Dubai) has announced that it will begin accepting card payments via Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals for walk-in services effective September 14, 2026. This new update gives clients a new choice instead of the old cash-only payment rule.

New Payment Rules Announced
This change was made official in MWO-Dubai Advisory No. 21, Series of 2026, which was issued on September 9, 2026. The office released this advisory on their website, mwodubai.org, to help thousands of Filipino expatriates living in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
Services Covered By Card Payment
The new card payment option works for many important services. These services include Balik-Manggagawa contract verification, employer accreditation, job order processing, rehire processing, direct hire processing, and Tadbeer hiring.
More Convenience For Workers And Employers
Labor Attache John Rio Bautista stated that this plan is made to bring more convenience for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), employers, and other clients who often visit the office in Al Qusais.
While the official verification fee stays fixed at AED 40, MWO-Dubai explained that customers who choose to pay by card may need to pay additional bank charges and Value Added Tax (VAT) as required by the service provider and the UAE government. The move to electronic payments shows the office wants to improve service delivery and supports the wider digitalization plans of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
