Dubai Awqaf Unveils Heritage Village for 150+ Seniors

The Endowment and Minors' Trust Foundation in Dubai (Awqaf Dubai) has officially launched the Heritage Village, a landmark project designed to support and empower more than 150 senior citizens.
In a collaborative partnership with the Emirates Association for Care and Welfare of Parents in Ras Al Khaimah, the initiative provides a comprehensive community hub that blends modern wellness with traditional Emirati culture.
A Cultural and Social Sanctuary
Financed by the Al Sayah Endowment Fund, the newly developed village features design elements deeply inspired by the nation's rich heritage. The project aims to provide a holistic environment that addresses the social, physical, and cultural needs of the elderly population.
The village includes several key components to ensure a high quality of life for its residents:
- Heritage Retail: 14 specialized shops dedicated to showcasing local crafts and cultural traditions.
- Event Spaces: A dedicated venue designed for entertainment and community-driven events.
- Wellness Facilities: Integrated spaces for social, health, and sports activities to encourage active aging and physical well-being.
Promoting National Identity and Connectivity
Beyond providing amenities, the Heritage Village is intended to foster social connectivity and facilitate intergenerational cultural exchange. By creating a space where traditions are celebrated, the project helps preserve national identity while keeping seniors actively engaged with the community and younger generations.
Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of Awqaf Dubai, characterized the development as a model for utilizing endowment yields to sustain community-focused programming that addresses societal needs and improves the
