Azizi's New Worker Housing Projects for 31,000 Staff

Azizi Developments has officially commenced construction on major worker housing projects designed to accommodate more than 31,000 personnel across Dubai and Sharjah. These master-planned communities aim to significantly enhance the living standards of the expatriate workforce by integrating essential healthcare, training, wellness, and dining facilities directly into the residential areas.

A Massive Residential Hub in Sharjah

The Sharjah-based development in Al Sajaa is set to be a massive community, housing over 20,000 residents across 36 buildings. To ensure a high quality of life, the project will feature several key amenities:

  • Four decentralized neighborhood hubs to provide easy access to local services.
  • Five medical clinics and a dedicated pharmacy.
  • A central supermarket for all resident needs.
  • An 18,945-square-foot Training and Community Centre, which can host over 400 people for technical and safety training programs.

Strategically, the Al Sajaa site is located adjacent to more than 1 million square feet of Azizi’s own manufacturing facilities, which produce items such as aluminum, marble, and modular ductwork. This proximity is intended to reduce commuting times and physical fatigue for the workforce. The community will also include landscaped courtyards and specialized bus bays for 155 buses, supported by Azizi’s existing fleet of over 500 passenger buses.

Expanding Workforce Accommodation in Dubai

In Dubai, the developer is focusing on the Jebel Ali Industrial 1 zone, where two purpose-built accommodation centers will span more than 137,000 square meters. These facilities are designed to house more than 9,700 workers and will offer:

  • Diverse dining options, including professional commercial catering and self-cooking kitchens.
  • Wellness and fitness amenities, such as indoor gymnasiums.
  • On-site medical support through dedicated clinics.
  • Recreational lounges for staff relaxation.

Project Timeline and Welfare Commitment

Work is already moving forward in Dubai, with enabling and shoring works currently underway in Jebel Ali. In Sharjah, site preparation for the Al Sajaa project is scheduled to begin in late October 2026. Both major developments are expected to be delivered in phases through late 2027.

Farhad Azizi, Group CEO of Azizi Group, noted that these initiatives are a vital part of the company's ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) agenda and its broader commitment to worker welfare.

"We are establishing a progressive living benchmark by integrating medical care, upskilling academies, and recreational amenities into master plans to support the frontline workforce," said Farhad Azizi.
