Ajman Launches Pilot Rules for Bachelor and Shared Housing

The Ajman Municipality and Planning Department has launched a pilot program to regulate bachelor accommodation and shared housing, targeting five key districts in the emirate. The initiative, which became active on October 3, 2026, aims to bring order to the local housing market by establishing clear occupancy rules and improving overall safety.
Key Districts Involved
The pilot program is currently being implemented across five priority areas in Ajman:
- Al Nuaimiya
- Al Rashidiya
- Al Nakheel
- Liwara
- Al Rumaila
Improving Safety and Building Standards
Mohammed Abdulwahab Mustafa, director of the Municipal Control and Inspection Department, stated that the initiative is designed to balance housing needs with urban planning regulations while optimizing building usage. To prepare for this rollout, the department has already conducted workshops with real estate companies to outline the specific conditions required for bachelor residency and to define standards for shared accommodation.
