Abu Dhabi Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque New Entry Fees Explained
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre in Abu Dhabi has implemented a new visitor entry fee structure effective September 19, 2026.
- UAE residents holding an Emirates ID pay AED 5 for entry.
- Tourists without a UAE ID must pay AED 10.
- Organized tour groups are subject to a fee of AED 8 per person.
- Official delegations have fees determined by the relevant authority.
- Entry remains free for worshippers attending Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha, or Friday prayers via a dedicated worshipper path.
- Seniors aged 60 and over, children under three, and people of determination are exempt from entry fees.
Ticket Prices and Supplemental Experiences
Supplemental experiences available at the site include the Light & Peace Museum for AED 25, the Diya 360-degree immersive show for AED 25, or a combined ticket for both at AED 40. Guided cultural walking tours, lasting 30 to 45 minutes, remain free and are typically held Saturday through Thursday at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 5:00 pm. Visitors are advised to arrive 15 minutes early at the visitor desk for these tours.
Booking Information and Operating Hours
Tickets must be purchased in advance through the official website at www.szgmc.gov.ae, with booking availability open up to one month in advance; walk-in entry is no longer the default. Operating hours are Saturday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 8:30 pm, and Friday from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and 2:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Sura night tours operate daily from 9:00 pm to 9:00 am.
Visitor Statistics and Dress Code
During the first half of 2026, the mosque hosted 3,127,607 guests, consisting of 1.84 million worshippers and iftar guests, and 1.24 million sightseeing visitors. The SZGMC stated the fees are intended to sustain visitor services following record attendance. Strict dress codes remain in effect: women must wear an abaya and head covering, while men must wear long trousers and keep shoulders covered. Shorts, sleeveless tops, and tight clothing are prohibited. Visitors are reminded to use designated sightseeing entrances rather than the worshipper-only queue.
