The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced a new automatic system for lifting travel bans, making the process significantly easier for eligible individuals. This new system instantly removes travel bans without the need for any manual requests or documentation, a huge improvement from the previous system, which involved multiple steps and lots of paperwork.
Part of the ‘Zero Government Bureaucracy’ Initiative
This change is a part of the UAE’s broader “Zero Government Bureaucracy” initiative, which aims to simplify government processes and eliminate unnecessary procedures. The Ministry of Justice has made several improvements to the services provided by the Federal Public Prosecution, with the automated lifting of travel bans being one of the most significant.
Key Features of the New System
- Automatic Lifting of Bans: Eligible individuals no longer need to submit personal requests to have their travel bans lifted. The system does it automatically.
- Instant Processing: The process, which previously took a full working day, is now completed in just minutes, without the need for any paperwork.
- Elimination of Bureaucracy: The new system has removed nine procedural steps, achieving a 100% zero bureaucracy rate.
- No Documentation Required: There is no longer any need for attachments such as proof of lawsuit termination, further simplifying the process.
